Terrier Football Finalizes its 2010 Schedule

BOSTON--The Boston Terriers Football Club, BU’s unofficial football team, has finalized its schedule and will begin its first season this fall as part of the newly established Yankee Collegiate Football Conference.

BOSTON—The Boston Terriers Football Club, BU’s unofficial football team, will have their work cut out for them in their inaugural season. The Terriers will face formidable teams who have years of experience over them, and the Terriers will have little preseason time to prepare. But Head Coach Anthony Morgante views this season as “an exciting challenge.”

1941, August 7-- Russell E. Peterson, head coach of three major sports and Director of Athletics at American International College, joins Boston University as the varsity football line coach.
1949, August 1-- Coach Aldo (Buff) Donelli, in his third term as Boston University football coach, announces that the Terriers will hold their first practice of the season earlier than usual on August 29 at Nickerson Field.
1951, August 9-- Dr. John M. Harmon steps down from the athletic directorship he had held for 19 years. Boston University appoints Aldo (Buff) Donelli to the dual role of athletic director and football coach.
1970, August 1-- Boston University defensive back Bruce Taylor is named the Most Valuable Player in the College All-Star football game.
